Cyber Security Engineer – Permanent

The Role

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a key role in protecting the organisation’s systems, networks, and data. You’ll work closely with development, infrastructure, and leadership teams to implement and maintain robust security measures across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions and controls
• Monitor systems for security breaches and investigate incidents
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security into software development (DevSecOps)
• Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations
• Stay up to date with emerging threats and security technologies

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in a Cyber Security Engineer or similar role
• Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems
• Experience with security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS)
• Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Understanding of secure coding practices and application security
• Experience with SIEM tools and threat analysis
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar (desirable)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
